Prends Moi by Isabey c1930s

Prends Moi by Isabey was launched in the late 1920s or early 1930s. It had a misspelling on its label, "Prends-Mois," probably due to the fact that another company, De Raymond, already had a perfume named Prends-Moi in 1930. The name Prends-Moi means "take me" in French.

Fate of the Fragrance:

Prends Mois was discontinued sometime in the 1940s. The last advertisement I saw for it was in 1944 whoch also advertised Taj Mahal, Avant et Apres and Le Chypre.

In the 30s it was a bold move to name a perfume Prends-moi (take me) but Isabey was a daring house. Prends-moi (take me) is now relaunched among the iconic perfumes of Isabey Paris. But much more than a simple fragrance's revival, Prends-moi (take me) is an ode to love and passion. This is why the strong and emblematic red color, a symbol of desire, is used. Midnight in Paris. A man and a woman. They used to love each other passionately. On a bridge, they met again. A unique and carnal love, which takes their senses away. Reason is shaded. He puts his arms around her and smells her fragrance. Her red lips whisper, “Take Me…”

"The Fragrance: The fragrance opens with a spicy pink pepper, which leads to a dual heart where an innocent Rose meets an extremely carnal tuberose. The Red Satin Lipstick accord becomes the forbidden lover of Cocoa, which lets itself be seduced in this game of Love."

So what does it smell like? It is classified as a floral amber fragrance for women.

• Top notes: raspberry, pink pepper and bergamot
• Middle notes: iris, red satin lipstick, tuberose absolute, rose absolute and cardamom
• Base notes: cacao absolute, creamy sandalwood and amber
